Arkansas Deer Woods Hash

Impress your deer woods buddies this season!

Arkansas Deer Woods Hash is a deep woods favorite guaranteed to light your taste buds and impress your buddies this season! This make a head deer camp favorite is sure to fill bellies and is great for an early morning breakfast  with a couple of eggs or even better on soft buns with a cold beer after the hunt!

 6 lbs Deer meat, neck, shoulder etc.
 2 Diced Onions
 2 cups Diced potatoes
 Salt and Pepper
 1 tsp Sage
 ½ cup Butter or meet fat (BACON YEAH!!)
 2 tsp Worcester Sauce
 1 cup Deer broth (beef will work but DEER is better)

Place the deer meat in a pressure cooker or large pot. Add 1 onion roughly chopped and cover with water. Cook 20 – 30 minutes in pressure cooker or until meat is tender. Remove the meat and save the broth.

Allow the meat to cool then chop/dice into small pieces. Place in a large bowl. Add the sage, margarine, Worcester sauce, salt and pepper to taste and optional hot sauce to taste. Dice the other onion and mix with diced potatoes.

Spray a 13” x 9”” baking dish with non-stick spray. Add the potato and onion mixture on the bottom with the hash mixture on top and flatten it down by hand. Pour 1 cup of the saved broth evenly over the top. Cover with foil and bake 45 – 50 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 15 minutes. Serve with rice, sweet taters or make sandwiches.
